Tupper Lake, NY

JAMES C. FRENETTE SR. RECREATIONAL TRAILS

As the winter whites begins to cover the Town of Tupper Lake, the Tupper Lake Golf Course transforms into a glorious center for cross country skiing, snowshoeing and fat tire biking. The continuously growing network of trails includes a series of loops that will offer an enjoyable experience for cross country skiers, snowshoers and fat tire bikers of all abilities.

This FREE and dog friendly trail system trail system is meticulously maintained by a dedicated group of volunteers in conjunction with the Town of Tupper Lake. Tracks are set and groomed for classic cross country skis, and skate lanes are available on some of the wider trails. Snowshoes and fat tire bikes are welcome and are asked to remain to the sides of the trails and out of the groomed ski trails.   The main trails (Golf Course Loop, Hull's Brook, Cranberry Pond Loop, Little Logger Loop and The Skidder Trail) offer a variety of terrain and scenic vistas.

Indoor space for warming is not available.  Porta-potties, trash receptacles and dog waste bags are provided for near the Golf Pro Shop.

Events through the season include full moon parties, Skiing with the Stars events with local astronomers, youth races and an annual “Brew-Ski” which allows skiers and snowshoes to hit the trails and sample local brews (must be 21+ to sample).
